Equal Protection? What Zika and Big Data Reveal About Emergency Preparedness Across the U.S.

Equal protection is a principle worth striving for in emergency preparedness as in other spheres of human endeavor. My new blog post for the National Health Security Preparedness Index uses the big data included in that Index to explore inequities in health protection. Not every American community will experience Zika transmission. But every community needs the ability to prevent, detect, and manage emergencies in ways that minimize morbidity and mortality.
